ILIA Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15 in Darlin' and Bombora [Swatches + Review] by Victoria Huynh on May 31, 2017
Product information from Sephora:
"What it is: A tinted lip conditioner with SPF 15 and a fusion of botanicals.
What it does: Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15 is infused with a blend of organic ingredients to soothe and condition the lips while delivering broad spectrum SPF 15. Each shade is buildable and offers a touch of sheer color that increases in intensity when it’s applied liberally. Healing cocoa butter hydrates while the antioxidant oils of olive fruit, sesame, and vitamin E help regenerate the skin from the inside out. Blended to provide a lightweight wash of color, this balmy formula builds to a deeper intensity with each swipe, making on-the-go, no-mirror application effortless."
The Tinted Lip Conditioners (0.14 oz. / 4 g) come in a sleek white metal casing. I really like how modern and minimalistic ILIA's packaging looks. It's a nice size and easy to pop into your purse.
A Closer Look:
Darlin’ - nude with ripe peach and apricot undertones
Bombora - golden red
At a glance, the shades look bold and dark, but once applied onto your lips, it gives you a bright, sheer pop of buildable color. I really liked Darlin' because it's a cute wash of pastel pink that I can never get with lipstick. With lipstick, lighter colors wash out my face or make the small lines on my lips more obvious so I appreciate how this lip conditioner gives me that pop of nude pink.
Bombora is also super cute. I'm usually a fan of dark muted red lipsticks, but this color gave me a brighter, sheer version of that look and it's adorable! It has a slight coral tint to it.
It has a slight crayon-like scent, but only if you take a really deep whiff of it.
This lip conditioner is perfect if you're looking for a quick pop of sheer color. It applies and feels like a gloss. It's not sticky, but it does take a little while to set into your lips. It's buildable if you want it to look more vibrant. Both colors look very natural when applied and it's surprisingly longwearing. I thought I would have to reapply since the color looks so sheer, but it stays on for half a day and through a meal before disappearing. I also love how it has SPF and moisturizes my lips. Overall, I'm a fan!
