Product information from Ulta:
"With the stars as your guide, set out on a beauty adventure with the new Lorac Los Angeles limited-edition cheek palette inspired by the sultry shades in Disney's fifth installment of the swashbuckling adventure story, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
The fearsomely beautiful palette includes six brand-new shades from their Color Source Buildable Blush and Light Source Illuminating Highlighters, inspired by the beauty and brilliance of the film's new heroine, Carina Smyth. The silky-smooth matte and satin blushes and highlighters are paraben free and infused with anti-aging antioxidants such as pomegranate, acai, and vitamins A, C, and E. These complexion-enhancing formulas can be dusted on lightly for a soft, natural look or layered for dramatic results.
Inspired by Carina's diary, this palette holds majestic beauty secrets, and begs to be kept in a safe place. Perhaps the compass will guide the way? After all, the treasure is found in the stars."
The cheek palette (0.54 oz. / 15.42 g) comes in the most gorgeous, slim packaging! The casing may be cardboard, but it looks so much more than that. The palette's cover design makes you feel like you have the stars in your hand. I absolutely love the black and gold color scheme. Upon opening the palette, you'll see a nicely-sized mirror and a celestial background that's even more magical. It also came with a transparent cover over the shades like many palettes usually do, but this one has different phases of the moon printed on it! I can honestly rave about the galaxy aesthetic all day.
A Closer Look:
- Star Reader (gold opal shimmer)
- Destined (light peach shimmer)
- Fortune (soft pearl shimmer)
- Bold Spirit (cool pink shimmer)
- Caribbean (dusty rose)
- Lost Soul (light beige)
This palette's shades are amazing. Each shade works with each other so well, and they're quite pigmented. If you're not into shimmer, then you should definitely stay away. Otherwise, the texture of the formula is so fine and airy that it gives you such a natural, smooth glow. My favorite combination has got to be Destined and Caribbean.
Here I used Destined as a highlighter on my cheekbone and Caribbean as a blush.
Here I used Star Reader as a highlighter on my cheekbone and Bold Spirit as a blush.
If you can't tell already, I'm in madly in love with this palette. It's my new favorite! It's super blendable and easy to apply. The colors are so buildable and longwearing, you can easily achieve a natural, subtle glow or a full-on sculpted look. I also love how there are anti-aging antioxidants in this product. If you have the option to splurge a little, it's definitely worth grabbing this off the shelf before it's sold out.
