Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser [Review] by Victoria Huynh on Nov 30, 2016

9
I have masks and peels that help me deal with pores, but I definitely don't have time to use them everyday. I needed something quicker for my routine. Thus, I was searching for a cleanser that would help do the job. I stumbled upon Sunday Riley's Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser and decided to try it out! After using it for a month, here is what I found:

Background/Claims
Product description from Sephora:

"A balancing, deep-clean cleanser, powered with pore-perfecting French green clay and Morrocan rhassoul clay. This skin-balancing cleanser purifies the complexion while visibly tightening the appearance of pores for clear, healthy-looking skin. Deep-cleaning French green clay and Moroccan rhassoul clay remove pore-clogging, excess oil, and impurities, without stripping the skin. Neroli essential oil balances, calms, and soothes, while antioxidant-rich vitamin C ester helps to brighten the appearance of the skin. The result is skin and pores that look and feel visibly toned and purified for a clean, balanced complexion. "

Design/Packaging

The Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser (4.2 oz/ 125 mL) comes in a sturdy translucent twist-to-lock pump bottle. You only need a small pump for each use, so a little goes a long way with this product! You get your money's worth, in my opinion.

Color/Texture
The cleanser comes out a light grey-ish green color and has a milky texture. It feels gentle on your skin.

Here is a dab of it on my hand:

Here it is applied onto my skin:

Scent
There is a rather strong neroli scent mixed in with the other essential oils scents. It definitely smells true to its ingredients. I'm personally not a fan of the scent, but it doesn't bother me too much.

Performance
After using this for a month, I've noticed that my pores are less visible, my skin tone feels and looks more balanced, and my pores haven't been clogging! It works true to the claims on Sephora.

However, I'd be cautious in how often I use this product. Using it too much dried out my skin when I first started out. It increased oil production and caused me to break out. Reducing its usage to maybe 2-3 times a week showed much better results. I would not recommend using this on a daily basis! Overall, this is a great cleanser to add to your skincare cabinet if you want to alternate between different cleansers.
