Tarte Rainforest of The Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Berry Mojito and Island Life [Swatches + Review] by Victoria Huynh on Apr 29, 2017
Product information from Sephora:
"What it is:
A long-wearing and moisture-rich, full-coverage lipstick in an array of creamy shades.
What it does:
Discover long-wearing lip color, powered by water, with this full-coverage, hydrating lipstick. The ultra-creamy, vegan formula pairs intense pigments and buttery-smooth conditioners for comfort-swipe color that locks in place—without feathering or bleeding. Each sea-inspired shade is infused with regenerative lip-quenchers and tarte’s antioxidant Rainforest of the Sea™ complex to help smooth the look of lip lines. "
The Rainforest of The Sea Color Splash Lipstick (0.12 oz/ 3.6 mL) comes in a pretty plastic tube casing. The packaging is a bit bigger compared to other lipsticks, but the design and quality overall seems sturdy and reliable.
A Closer Look:
I am a fan of darker colors so I was super excited to try Island Life and Berry Mojito. Island Life is a rosy mauve while Berry Mojito is a dark berry. The colors are pretty true to color as shown on Sephora.com I was blown away at how buttery smooth and pigmented this lipstick was! One swipe provided a load of intense color. It's ultra soft and moisturizing. It wears like the comfort of a lip balm.
I absolutely loved, loved, loved this lipstick. I was a big fan of Bite Beauty's Amuse Bouche Edgy Neutrals formula, but I think I may have found a new favorite. My lips are extremely sensitive and dry without lip balm so not only did this not irritate my lips, it also kept my lips moisturized. It did a good job smoothing the lines on my lips and I loved how creamy and vibrant the colors are with one to two swipes. A little goes a long way with this product.
The product description claimed that this lipstick "locks into place—without feathering or bleeding" and I must say, it's pretty much true! Although there was some transfer, it was very little compared to other lipsticks. The color is long wearing and it survives at least one meal without lip primer. (I stuffed my face with pizza and it was fine.)
All in all, this lipstick is amazing! It's definitely worth considering.
