Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Tarte Twinkle Stick Highlighter in Spotlight and Skylight [Swatches + Review] by Victoria Huynh on Jun 3, 2017

9
I'm all for Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea line so when I stumbled upon the new Twinkle Stick Highlighter, I knew I had to try it! I got to experience it in both available shades, Spotlight and Skylight, and I definitely felt like a star using it. Read on for my full review:

Background/Claims
Product information from Sephora:

"What it is:
A creamy, highlighting and strobing stick for a long-wearing glow that's powered by coconut, vitamin E, apple, and marine extracts.

What it does:
This swipe-on strobing stick is loaded with pigments and antioxidants to help nurture skin and give it a lasting glow. The twist-up highlighter has micro-pearl flecks suspended in a creamy conditioning formula that’s infused with coconut, apple extract, and the exclusive Rainforest of the Sea™ complex. It glides on and blends easily into all skin types, leaving a concentrated glow that instantly catches the light. The formula activates with your body heat so all you need is your fingertips to swipe and blend it on. Wear your favorite shade alone, or layer it with the coordinating, Skin Twinkle Vol. II Palette for all-out lit luminosity."

Ingredients:

Packaging/Design

The Rainforest of the Sea Tarte Twinkle Stick Highlighter (0.31 oz/ 9 g) comes in a twist-up metal stick casing. The overall design of the stick is so chic and pretty. There's a gold scallop/scale pattern on the cap that I find so aesthetically pleasing. You get a decent amount of product in the stick and it's easy to pop into your purse for any quick touch-ups.

A Closer Look:

Shades/Texture

Shades - Spotlight (champagne), Skylight (pearl)

Both shades offer a radiant, natural glow. Spotlight is a bit more subtle with its peachy tone whereas spotlight is full-on bright light. The texture is rather creamy and is easily blendable with the heat from your finger. It's lightweight and feels moisturizing. You do have to build it up and layer it though if you want a more luminous glow.

Performance
I enjoyed using this highlighter! It's simple and easy to use with just a swipe of product wherever I desire. I like how it's very portable, buildable, long lasting, and nicely packaged. It's not overly shimmery, which I appreciated. As a fan of good skincare, I especially love how it feels good on my skin. If you're looking for a new highlighter that requires nothing more than the tip of your finger to blend, this may be for you!

Availability: $30, Sephora
